How To Explode Your Mailing List With Key List-building Strategies.

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

No matter how good your product is or how much you have to offer, it wont be of much use unless you have in front of you a ready group of people who are already interested in your stream of business. Whether you are a novice in the internet business or a pro, one thing you cannot survive without in this industry is a good mailing list.

When I tried my hand at internet business a couple of years ago, my first product was an ebook. I tried everything in my power to make it a good product. The content was comprehensive, the banners were theme-related and everything, from the text to the tables included was done by me with precision.

The next step came of marketing the product. I wrote several articles about my subject and posted them in various article directories, contacted joint-venture partners and searched for affiliate programs. Even then in the end, I did not make as much profit of it as I could have made.

What went wrong? The answer is that time I did not have a mailing list as such with me. I did not have a group of interested people to whom I could introduce my products to and that?s where the importance of having a good mailing list comes in. Let us run through some basic yet key advantages of having a mailing list, which every internet business owner swears by.

Your mailing list is your instant profit ticket, provided you have developed a good relation with them by giving them good targeted information every time. Whenever you want to launch your new product, you already have potential customers in the form of your list to which you can introduce your product and get instant sales.

Also when you regularly write to your subscribers, you develop a trust in them, which is very important because only when they trust you will they be willing to give you their hard earned money to gain valuable information. And to maintain this trust it is very important for us as internet business owners to provide our list with genuine and useful information. Ask yourself the question, would you buy this product? If the answer is yes, then most probably the answer will be yes for your list too.

Now let us look at some good ways of building your targeted list.

There is a concept called ad-swapping. It?s very simple. What you do is find other ezine producers who are promoting a similar product to yours, and approach them. You strike a deal with them where in you put their ezine ad in your newsletter and they put your ezine ad in theirs. That way you both get instant bulk subscribers and that too targeted ones. In case you don?t have any subscribers to start with, you can offer your product to an ezine publisher in return for advertising your ezine in his newsletter.

One very easy way of getting targeted traffic is to promote your ezine in ezine directories. Just submit your ezine in one the ezine directories with an impressive description of your ezine.

Another very sure of way of increasing your list is by submitting articles related to your product in article directories. Remember that it is not advertising. You need to put in useful and informative extracts about your subject, form it into a good article and post it in various article directories. Over time many people who are interested in the subject will read your article, and if the information is useful, they will click on your link in the resource box to know more about it and that?s when you can tell them to sign up to your newsletter.

You can also create a blog about your product and place your opt in form on it. You might need to market your blog first so as to drive traffic to it.

One of the ways, which has helped me a lot in gaining a good number of subscribers, is participating in a Give-Away Event. All it is, is a group of internet marketers participate in this event. They each offer a free gift on a website and in order for people to get the free gift, they need to join their email list. It?s a very simple way by which you can gain a huge amount of opt-ins to your list. You have to keep a lookout for these events. Sign up to some good newsletters, and the owner will inform you if there is any give-away event that you can participate in.

These are just a few ways in which you can steadily increase the amount of people in your list and thereby progress in the number of sales you are making.

Your Blog’s Traffic

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Of course, you know that blogging is a great way to make money these days. And every article on how to make a blog make money says traffic is what does it all. So what is traffic? Before you sign up for any blog service, know what you’re targeting.

When people talk about traffic, they often don’t know the line between mere hits and visits that actually do the blog good. Hits will only mean the number of times that a user seeks information on a site. It could be a request for an image, a video or text and the person can actually keep making that request and each time, it will be counted as a hit. Now you know why hits just aren’t reliable indicators of blog performance.

In other words, when you consider traffic, you have to take into account what your readers actually do while visiting your blog. Then you can work from there. For example, what is the average amount of time they spend on your blog? That is a much better sign of how things are actually going. When your reader clicks away in a matter of seconds, there is definitely a problem in there. Look into the actual page they usually exit from and examine what could need a fixing.

Maybe your design is too loud or maybe your page or pages appear unorganized. Maybe you’ve been using inappropriate keywords and driving the wrong people to your page. Remember that keywords are always crucial when you want traffic. In fact, looking closely into them allows you to look into what your readers actually want from you and what drives them. If you suspect that you might be having problems around this part, you certainly have to look closer and pinpoint what’s wrong. Otherwise, you could be pouring your efforts down the drain.

You can also look into which of your posts have gotten the most visits and comments. From there, you would know what approaches to your topics work best and you can try to use them more often for your future posts. For example, if you noticed that you did very well on posts where you added a lot of pictures, take that cue. Make it a point to have pictures on each of your posts. Just make sure these images are appropriate for the topic or they could easily backfire on you.

There are other behavior patterns you can observe while studying your traffic. However, they will all work to highlight the good things you’ve been doing so you can reinforce them and the bad so you could change or improve them.
When you blog to express yourself, you?re obviously not obligated to anyone but you. But when you’re blogging to make money, you actually owe your readers your full commitment. After all, how can you expect to make money with blog posts that are inconsistent? Your readers need to know that you’ll always be there or they just won’t find the point in following you.

How To Build Repeat Business Using Autoresponders

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

The aim of a sales page on a website is to give your customers only two options; buy your product or leave your website. Why let them leave without giving yourself another chance to sell to them? You don’t have to… You can set up a system which will give you many opportunities to sell your product or service to each single visitor to your sales page.

The secret is to use what is known as an autoresponder which is an email utility you can use to save the contact details of your visitors and then to send them emails at set intervals.

To make use of an autoresponder you can either use the services of a third party supplier or you can purchase and install a script onto your website. To begin with it’s a lot easier to use a third party autoresponder.

Irrespective of whether you use a third party service or your own script, you will have to use a form to capture your visitors contact details. This form can be built into any HTML web page be it your sales page, or a page designed specifically for use as a popup.

The underlying concept behind the use of autoresponders is that people rarely buy on their first visit to a website. Research has shown that most people need repeated contact with an advertising message before they respond to it and purchase the product or service.

Autoresponders were designed for just this. You can load a series of advertising messages into your autoresponder and adjust it to send the messages at set intervals. That said, people react badly to advertising; in fact most people just plain ignore advertisements.

To get round this, you have to design your email series so that it is not perceived to be advertising. A good way to do this is to design your email series to include plenty of useful information; give your subscribers some good quality free information in each email and weave your advertisement into it.

For example, let’s assume you are selling an e-book titled “101 Dieting Tips”. You could create a series of 7 emails, each containing a single dieting tip. At the end of each email you could inform the reader of your e-book containing 101 tips and include a link to your sales page.

The bottom line is the content you include in your email series must be of very high quality; after all you are going to ask for somebody’s contact details in exchange for it.

Bear in mind nobody is going to sign up for your email series just you write it, or you include good content. In truth visitors to your website aren’t interested in you, they are interested in themselves. They have a problem they are trying to solve, and that’s why they ended up on your website; they thought they could find a solution there.

Another point worth considering is you are a relative unknown to the person visiting your website; they don’t know you or trust you. It’s because of this distrust that many people won’t buy your product or service on their first visit. If you can get them to subscribe, your email series should build up their trust to the point where they will buy your product or service.

First you have to get them to subscribe, and you do this by advertising you are giving away “free” tips which will help solve their problem. Your opt-in form must be prominently displayed on your sales page, build it into the content. You should also design a popup form that displays your opt-in form either when people first get to your site, or when they leave.

Finally, a properly designed opt-in form which causes many of your website visitors to subscribe to your information series will incorporate these three design tips:

1) Use a heading, in a larger font and of a different color to the rest of the form, which includes a major benefit. In other words, in as few words as possible, explain the biggest benefit your visitor will receive from subscribing to your information series.

2) In as few words as possible explain two or three additional benefits your reader will receive from subscribing to your opt-in list. A list of bullet points is the best way to do this.

3) Your primary objective is to get your visitor to join your opt-in list, so ask them to subscribe. Get into the conversation going on inside their mind, use words like “Yes! Send Me the Tips Now!” on the submit button of your form.

The Truth About Master Reseller And Private Label Rights Offers

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

You?ve seen the ads and websites, right? Make $10,000 a day from home. Never work again! Guaranteed Income for Life! Of course you believed every word of it right?

If you did, you are not alone. Everyday countless internet marketing ?newbies? plop down good cash to purchase the Master Reseller Rights or Private Label Rights to some product. Unfortunately, most of that money was wasted, and very few people will actually recoup the money they spent.

Simply put, Master Reseller Rights or Private Label Rights Offers provide you a product, such as a series of eBooks or a software product. More importantly they also give you the right to re-label and or resell those products to others, including the resell rights. You buy Product A with Master Reseller Rights. Your then resell (get it?) the same product to someone else, also giving them reseller rights. They in turn resell the product and on and on?.

So are Reseller Offers fake or even bad? The answer is a resounding ?it depends.? The ?depends? in this case is how the Resell product is used by the buyer. A buyer who purchases Resell products for the right reason can actually make money. A buyer who purchases the product to get rich overnight will almost certainly not get rich overnight, or at any time.

How do you make money with Master Reseller and Private Label products? It takes work and planning.

There are a number of approaches to using Mast Reseller and Private Label Rights products. Those approaches may be limited by the license for the products you bought. Make sure you know what is allowed for each product. For instance, can you give the product away? Can you break it into parts for reuse? Can you resell the product with your name as the author? Are you getting an editable version of the text? Look for products that allow you full flexibility to not only resell but also reuse the products.

Also, you may be limited by how others are using the product. Can the product easily be found at other sites? Is it being sold for a price you can bear to match? How long has the product been available?

Once you?ve made a purchase, you now likely have a sizeable amount of content or a software product. On the internet today, content really is a commodity. To get high search engine rankings and traffic you have to have content that people want to view. Using this content is how you can turn your investment into a profit. Consider these ways to use the content you now have:

?Use the content on your own existing or new site(s). There are Reseller products for almost every niche. Use the content to build out your website and offer visits a reason to come back. For best results, consider ?editing? the content to make it unique and relevant to your site.

?Use the content to drive traffic to your new or existing site. Assuming your license permits it, use parts of the content as articles, forum or blog postings. Again, make sure you edit the content enough to make it your own. Search engines, and web users, know when they?re looking at duplicated content.

?Actually resell the products. The key here is that you have to make an additional investment of time and or money to sell the product. This involves the same marketing strategies you?d use to sell anything on the internet (or anywhere). Create a site, likely using the sample site included with your purchase and then get traffic to it. Consider the standard SEO methods for getting traffic, but also consider paid advertising like pay-per-click. Remember, this is a ?business? you are trying to start. Few businesses start or run for free.
?Finally, consider giving the content away. This may sound illogical, but if you have other products or services you are selling, ?free? content may be just the thing to get visitors to your new or existing sites.

The bottom line is that Reseller and Private Label products are like anything else. If you expect them to work miracles you are going to be disappointed. But, if you consider them as part of a larger time and money investment, they can be valuable tools to your internet marketing experience.
